Care Instructions
A little care goes a long way. Follow these guidelines to keep your pieces luminous for years to come.
Sterling Silver
- 1Store in a cool, dry place. Use the anti-tarnish pouch included with your order.
- 2Clean with a soft, lint-free cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a silver polishing cloth (not liquid cleaners).
- 3Remove before swimming, bathing, or using household cleaners. Chlorine and chemicals accelerate tarnishing.
- 4Apply perfume, lotion, and hairspray before putting on your jewelry — let them dry completely first.
- 5Tarnish is natural and not a defect. Regular wear actually helps prevent tarnish buildup.
Gold Vermeil
- 1Gold vermeil is a thick layer of 18k gold over sterling silver. It requires gentle care to preserve the finish.
- 2Clean with a damp, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or polishing cloths — they can wear away the gold layer.
- 3Remove before exercising, swimming, or showering. Sweat, chlorine, and salt water damage the gold finish.
- 4Store separately from other jewelry to prevent scratching. A soft pouch or lined jewelry box is ideal.
- 5Over time, the gold may naturally fade. We offer re-plating services — contact us for details.
Gemstones & Pearls
- 1Wipe gemstones gently with a damp, soft cloth. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners — they can crack or loosen stones.
- 2Pearls are delicate and porous. Wipe with a dry, soft cloth after each wear to remove body oils and perfume.
- 3Never soak pearls or gemstones in water or cleaning solutions.
- 4Store pearls flat in a soft pouch, away from harder jewelry that can scratch their surface.
- 5Restring pearl necklaces annually if worn frequently. Silk thread stretches and weakens over time.
General Storage
- 1Keep each piece in a separate compartment or pouch to prevent tangling and scratching.
- 2Use anti-tarnish strips in your jewelry box. Replace them every 6 months.
- 3Avoid storing jewelry in direct sunlight or humid environments like bathrooms.
- 4Travel with jewelry in a dedicated travel case. Never toss loose pieces into a bag or pocket.
- 5Check clasps, prongs, and settings every 6 months. If a stone feels loose, stop wearing it and contact us for repair.
